Location


The conference will be held at the Escuela Politécnica Superior (EPS) in the Cantoblanco campus of Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM).

Plennary sessions will take place in the "Assembly Hall" of EPS, located at the Joseph Fourier building ("Edificio C"). Other sessions will be held also in the same building.

The Cantoblanco campus is located North of Madrid, on the "Carretera de Colmenar Viejo", Km 15, 28049, Madrid.

How to reach the Campus from Madrid

To reach UAM on public transport from Madrid there are several alternatives:

Train (RENFE Cercanías - suburban rail)

The train station of UAM is called "Cantoblanco Universidad", and belongs to suburban rail line C-4, with destinations "Colmenar Viejo" or "Alcobendas / San Sebastian de los Reyes."

This line passes through the main train stations of Madrid: Chamartín (10 min.), Nuevos Ministerios (15 min.), Sol (20 min.) and Atocha (25 min.).

From the airport, you can go by Metro (subway) (line 8, stations "Aeropuerto T4" or "Aeropuerto T1-T2-T3") to "Nuevos Ministerios" station. This takes about 25 minutes.

Subway

The subway, called Metro Madrid is the best way to travel around Madrid, and some of them are connected with Cercanias trains.

Bus

The most appropriate option to go by bus from Madrid to UAM is through line 714, leaving from the "Plaza Castilla" bus station.

The journey takes approximately 20 minutes.

The following map shows the route of about 5 minutes walk from the main bus station of UAM, which is in front of the Rectory building, to EPS.

Taxi

There are taxi stops at the two main train stations (Atocha and Chamartín), Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport and the main bus stations. However, the following telephone numbers may be helpful:

From Madrid-Barajas airport to UAM, the price of the taxi journey should be around 30-35 Euros. From Plaza Castilla, it should be around 20 Euro.

Other information of interest

  • The welcome Reception will take place on Monday October 23 at 19:30 in WeAre Chamartin Hotel, just over Chamartin station (both Cercanias and subway pass through).
  • The guided visit will start on Wednesday October 25 at 18:30 in "Puerta del Sol", it is in Sol station (both Cercanias and subway pass through).
  • The Banquet dinner and Flamenco show will take place on Wednesday October 25 at 20:30 in Casa Patas restaurant, it is allocated in Calle Cañizares, 10.

  • By the time the Flamenco show finish, the best way to go back is the subway, it is safe and open until 2:00 am. The nearest subway station is "Anton Martín" connected with Sol, Chamartin an Atocha stations.
    Another option could be to call a taxi, the prices are around 20-30 Euro for going to the most of the hotels.
